Ginger Root (Fresh) – Zingiber officinalis
Steam distilled from the rhizome. A well-loved spice. Use in a massage blend for aching muscles and poor circulation. Dilute and rub onto tummy to dispel gas. Used postoperatively for nausea.  May be helpful during travel for nausea. Helps to warm up cold bodies. Mind stimulating, but grounding. Adds a spicy, homey note to perfumes.  May irritate sensitive skin. Slightly phototoxic. Avoid in the first trimester of pregnancy and with babies.
